The group of companies known as "Guardian Alarms" specialises in the supply and installation of fire safety and security equipment, and in the maintenance and certification of building services. The company has been privately owned since its origins in 1952.
It has progressively established a reputation throughout New Zealand for a dependable and professional approach to installation and servicing of building services. Following the enactment of the Building Act (1991) the company qualified for registration as an Independent Qualified Person (IQP) with all Territorial Authorities, competent to undertake work in the following compliance schedules:
- CS3 (evacuation systems)
- CS4 (emergency lighting)
- CS12 (signs)
- CS13 (means of escape)
- CS14 (safety barriers)
- CS15 (access and facilities for the disabled)
- CS16 (hand held hose reels)
It has been ISO 9001 accredited for several years with Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI).
Company Structure
The Company has offices in Wellington (Head Office), Auckland and Christchurch. A large number of New Zealand agents enable Guardian Alarms to provide its services to over 1000 buildings throughout New Zealand. All work is carried out to a high standard by staff who are qualified and highly trained in fire protection and security systems. All service staff hold security licences.

Guardian Alarms Quality Policy
Guardian Alarms has, by the very nature of the Fire Protection Industry, always conducted its business with a high degree of documentation and checking. More recently, these well established internal procedures have been formalised with the Company gaining accreditation to ISO 9001 with Bureau Veritas Quality International (BVQI). This gives the customer complete assurance that the job they get from Guardian will be completed to a high standard and to the customer's complete satisfaction.

- Guardian Alarms Wellington Ltd will provide affordable fire alarm, security alarm, emergency lighting and associated products and services which will satisfy its customers requirements and will meet or exceed its customers' standards.
- The Company Directors are committed to the principles of Quality Assurance, and have therefore implemented a quality system which meets the requirements of International Standard AS/NZS ISO 9001.
- The principles of AS/NZS ISO 9001 shall be used to create an environment providing ongoing commitment to customer service through the process of quality awareness and improvement.

Manufacturing History
